Retail Transformations in Timeless Buildings
Following our successful collaboration with Australia Square Gourmet Circle, the Lend Lease Group again sought the expertise of Peter Rektor, for the refurbishment of the MLC Centre 3-level retail arcade.
Completed in 2 stages, the new design focused on a more elegant European style, to achieve a timeless appeal, attractive to top fashion and similar minded tenants.
A spectacular glass entry canopy and a massive glass umbrella over the seating atrium, were just two of the exciting and innovative design elements featured throughout. A new food court with bars, an extended restaurant and cafe plaza area and the renovated cinema contributed to this exciting makeover.
Creative functional solutions for air conditioning and shopfront glass installations were key factors in facilitating low maintenance criteria.
The success of this work is evident, as much of the original design initially implemented, has lasted considerably longer than CBD Centres generally have between upgrades.
