PORSCHE ICE PAVILION PROPOSAL

HARBIN CHINA

Releasing the new Panamera

The Harbin Ice Festival in China has grown from a traditional ice lantern show and garden party, into an a renowned event - an exposition of ice and snow art and architecture that attracts many local and international visitors during January, with a different theme each year.

Porsche chose this location to release the new Panamera in 2016. The theme for the festival was Fire and Ice. Peter Rektor - Designfocus Resource and Chris Bosse - LAVA, partnered to create the Porsche Ice Pavilion.

Fake fire belched from under the stage (as if from a hidden dragon) in the most realistic and safe way, whilst aerialists rose to their trapezes high in the ice cone - as the Porsche Panamera was lowered to the stage. A spectacular release of the iconic car.
